文凭大考验

The first time he meets the young man is when they are both children.

He doesn’t recognize him at first because there isn't anyone else in their home except him and his father. And he's always been alone. So when the boy comes running into their home, he thinks he must have made a mistake in his memory. He doesn't remember ever meeting someone before; certainly not one who looks so different from the other children. But then it hits him; the name on the tag he was holding is just like that of his own. So he smiles and gives him the biggest hug he can manage without hurting the little boy.

"Welcome!"

He learns his name to be Kise Ryouta, or Ryouta as he calls himself. He's ten years old now and living with them for three months. It's only the first day of classes but he already knows all the new faces. When people ask him if he's going to make friends, Ryouta doesn't even have to think about it. His father always makes him smile, and everyone loves him, too.

They don't get along very well at first though. Because of Ryouta's behavior, Kiyoshi has become the butt of some of the more malicious jokes, especially from some of the kids around the neighborhood. They say he's not nice because his dad's rich and he doesn't come from a good family.
